Making Dandelion Curls

We had a lot of wonderful sunshine yesterday (and some rain as well -- how fickle the weather can often be in the Pacific Northwest!). We love the cheerfulness and warmth that bright and sunny days bring in May, and it was a great time to make dandelion curls outside and for the kids to enjoy a little water play.

Most of you probably know how to make dandelion curls, but here's how we do it. We pick the dandelions, take the tops off, then split the stems into strips, and drop them in the water, then, voila! . . . they start curling up into pretty, curly-que shapes.

Here's a video. (Please ignore the weird electronic sounds in the background; I'm not sure why my camera put those sounds on there.)
